科技部108年度「年輕學者養成計畫」計畫徵求說明會

科技部為培植科研新世代，鼓勵年輕研究學者多方面大膽嘗試、勇於創新，並進行國際研究與交流，拓展國際視野及影響力，自107年起推動「年輕學者養成計畫」(含愛因斯坦培植計畫與哥倫布計畫)。本計畫與一般科技部計畫不同之處，在於申請者除公私立大專校院編制內專任學者外，亦鼓勵具研究潛力惟尚未獲大專校院聘任之年輕學者申請本計畫，但審查通過者須於一定期限內獲得國內大專校院聘任，科技部始予核定計畫。

為擴大培育年輕學者，經滾動檢視現行規定，科技部自108年度起將調整申請人之年齡資格，並適度調整計畫通過但尚未獲大專校院聘任之申請人覓職期，以鼓勵更多年輕學者投入發展開創性科學研究，並協助建立國際團隊，發展多元出路。

為使各界了解本計畫修正規定，並協助甫博士畢業之年輕學者了解如何撰寫科技部計畫申請書，特舉辦本次說明會，會中將說明計畫相關規定，並邀請學者分享計畫申請書撰寫經驗，歡迎各領域優秀年輕學者踴躍報名參加。

Overview

The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Taiwan, is calling for application for the 2019 "Young Scholar Fellowship – the Einstein Program and the Columbus Program". The Programs are designed to attract global talents, offering a long-term research grant (approximately NTD 5 million or 10 million a year for the duration of 3 to 5 years, depending on the Programs), to attempt bold and creative research. Eligible applicants may be from any disciplines and nationalities. Candidates must currently be studying toward or hold a PhD degree and be officially employed by a Taiwan university when starting their fellowship.

The Young Scholar Fellowship Program Office will be holding 3 application workshops in Kaohsiung, Taichung, and Taipei respectively in mid-September. The workshop will introduce the prospective applicants to the new Pilot Directions for both Programs and the application process. Meanwhile, there will be an FAQ session for the participants to ask questions regarding the Programs.

愛因斯坦培植計畫

以跳躍思考、勇於創新、大膽逐夢為主軸，鼓勵多方面與自由嘗試各種發想，發掘有潛力的新興議題進行探索。申請人年齡須在32歲以下，具有博士學位，或博士畢業3年以內且年齡未逾35歲，每件計畫每年補助經費以不超過500萬元為原則，執行期間為3至5年。

哥倫布計畫

以探索未知、放眼國際、追求卓越為方針，鼓勵長期投入有潛力的重大創新構想，同時到國外的研究機構進行研究與交流，建立國際合作團隊，拓展國際視野及影響力。申請人年齡須在38歲以下，具有博士學位，每件計畫每年補助經費以不超過1,000萬元為原則，執行期間為3至5年。

Program Description

Application deadline: October 31, 2018

Eligibility:

Einstein Program: The applicant (principal investigator) must be under 32 years old and hold a doctorate degree, or be no more than 35 years old and have held a doctorate degree for less than 3 years. This Program provides research grant for up to a maximum NTD 5 million per year for the duration between 3-5 years.
Columbus Program: The applicant (principal investigator) must be no more than 38 years old, hold a doctorate degree, and fulfill one of the following requirements. This Program offers research grant for up to a maximum NTD 10 million per year the duration of 3-5 years.
